Do you know someone who may be interested in becoming a member of HFMA and they are interested in becoming certified as a CHFP?  If the answer is YES then forward or send this information to them to register for these CHFP coaching webinars.

Six HFMA chapters have joined forces to present a joint certification coaching course to be presented as a 4 part series of webinars presented by Christoph Stauder. The six chapters are: CT, MA/RI, ME, NH/VT, SC and WI.

One webinar covers exam 1 and testing strategies. Three webinars will present two case studies from one of the three environments. These webinars will help you apply business judgement to case studies that describe various situations, opportunities and challenges that one might confront as a provider, payer or physician group.

How do you teach strategic thinking? We have Christoph Stauder to help develop business judgment by observing decisions of others and what would have been better or different.

We’ve offered this training to our members and we have a few spots left for guests.  There is no cost for the nonmember but this is a limited time offer and we will close registration on Monday, 1/29/18 (at 5 PM) or until we reach our capacity for the webinar series.

Click here to check out the information for the webinar series and register.

The webinar will use sample screen prints and knowledge check questions from each of the six courses to illustrate what participants will learn in greater by taking the course and will be expected to know for the exam. The webinar will serve as a brief content review for people who have already begun preparing for the first exam.
Preparing for the Operational Excellence Exam - Since HFMA does not provide a study guide or online course for the Operational Excellence exam (the second of the two CHFP certification exams), this webinar, and the two that follow it, introduces participants to the strategic business skills required of CHFP candidates. Webinar 2 covers the healthcare business environment from the perspective of hospitals, webinars 3 and 4 from the perspective of health plans and physicians. In each of the three webinars, participants are introduced to two business cases illustrating the decisions that senior executives must make in today’s competitive, value-oriented healthcare marketplace. The first two case studies cover Hospital Cost Structure and Hospital Consolidation.
Preparing for the Operational Excellence Exam (continued) - This webinar looks at healthcare from the perspective of health plans by way of two business cases involving health plans and their interactions with other market participants. The webinar will discuss the some of the decisions senior executives at health plans must make in today’s competitive, value-oriented healthcare marketplace.
Preparing for the Operational Excellence Exam (conclusion) - This webinar looks at healthcare from the perspective of physicians by way of two business cases involving physicians and their interactions with other market participants. The webinar will discuss some of the decisions physician leaders must make in today’s competitive, value-oriented healthcare marketplace.

The Wisconsin Hospital Association is pleased to invite HFMA-Wisconsin members to attend its annual Advocacy Day event. WHA Advocacy Day is scheduled for Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Madison at the Monona Terrace. Registration is now open at www.whareg4.org/2018AdvocacyDay andhttp://www.wha.org/advocacy-day.aspx.
Each year WHA Advocacy Day draws 1,100 hospital and health system advocates to Madison to learn and advocate. The 2018 morning keynote will be Mara Liasson, the national political correspondent for National Public Radio (NPR). She will be followed by a legislative panel discussion and Governor Walker has been invited again as the luncheon keynote. To continue to be as effective as we possibly can on issues, WHA’s yearly goal is to have as many attendees as possible participate in legislative meetings in the afternoon. An optional pre-event webinar will be offered closer to the date for those going on legislative visits, and a short issue briefing will happen at Advocacy Day as well.
While Advocacy Day is free, registration is necessary. Register today for Advocacy Day 2018 at www.whareg4.org/2018AdvocacyDay or http://www.wha.org/advocacy-day.aspx. If you have any questions, please contact WHA’s Jenny Boese at 608-268-1816 or jboese@wha.org.
You won’t want to miss this premier event. See you on March 21, 2018.
