Welcome to the website for the WI Chapter of Healthcare Financial Management Association.

I have had the privilege of being an HFMA member for the past 23 years, and am extremely honored to be serving as President of the Chapter for the 2011-2012 Fiscal Year.

I have been employed in the Healthcare industry for 33 years and have been fortunate enough to spend those years with the same corporation. In 1985 I entered the world of Healthcare Finance and my involvement in the HFMA began shortly after, at the suggestion of Les Whiteaker, VP Finance/CFO, Memorial Medical Center, Inc. In my tenure at MMC my responsibilities have expanded to four other entities to include the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital and Water’s Edge. There are some important reasons for the success of my professional development, my employer’s willingness to invest in me, Les Whiteaker’s mentorship, hard work and my involvement in the HFMA.

HFMA provides many different resources to its members, from Chapter and National educational opportunities, the chapter newsletter “New & Profiles”, National’s HFM magazine, the Chapter and National websites and networking opportunities. In this age of electronic communications and social media, the way we receive the information we need to meet the ever changing demands of our industry can be varied. It has been my experience that the greatest source of knowledge within the HFMA is its members. I told my leadership team this year that the most valuable tool we possess as HFMA members is our Membership Directory, because it holds the answers to all the questions in Healthcare Finance, just a phone call or e-mail away.   

The WI Chapter is the result of many hardworking, dedicated people who have given of themselves in order to receive a greater reward. I hope that each of you will take the opportunity to become involved, it is an investment in the chapter and in yourself.
